Feature films have been made for over a hundred years and it’s possible that you’ve missed one or two good ones.
This column should help you digging through past films that are well worth your time.
We’re starting with 1987’s “Monster Squad”, directed by Fred Dekker and written by the great Shane Black (“Lethal Weapon”, “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”).
The premise is quite simple: it’s “Ghostbusters” meets “The Goonies” and it was already ahead of it’s time by creating a huge monster-mash in one single film: the kids will have to face Dracula, the Gill-man, Frankenstein’s monster, a werewolf and the mummy.
“Monster Squad” is a very entertaining flick, indeed.
